Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her professional career in showbiz from a young age. Her roles included lead characters in TV dramas as young as the age of 16. Her highly acclaimed performance on the TV film that was made to air Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including the role in the role of Hitler's Secretary Traudl Junge. The role was in the commercially and critically highly successful Oscar nominated historic war drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this model. Alexandra was involved in a variety of notable projects both at home and abroad over her career. This includes her work on the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time as well as French historic Miniseries Napoleon. Additionally, she was part of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
